I walked into the room while solemn accusations were being read aloud by NPR commentators. I asked my husband if the "he" they were referring to was King George III or George Bush II, since they were talking about massing armies of mercenaries, holding people in prison without trials, and numerous other wrongs that sounded all too familiar and contemporary.
"They're reading the Declaration of Independence," my husband said.
Chills up and down my spine.
Let's honor the 4th by calling our goverment to account.
